What is a PBX System?
PBX stands for Private Branch Exchange – the private telephone exchange system that businesses use inside their offices. A PBX system allows customers to call a business and be transferred to the appropriate employee or department. Originally, these systems were introduced so companies could manage their phone systems through in-house operators.
Today, instead of just connecting calls, PBX systems connect any type of technology that transmits through phone lines, including computer modems.
